Riley and Gemmill
Claim Individual Titles
NEWARK, DE -- Patrick Riley
and Erin Gemmill each claimed individual titles and
the University of Delaware men's team won the team title as
Delaware hosted the UD Invitational at White Clay Creek
State Park on Saturday.
Riley won the men's race with a time of
25:31.21, nearly 40 seconds ahead of the next collegiate
finisher. Gemmill was the top collegiate finisher in the
women's race, completing the course in 23:32.28, 15 seconds
ahead of the next fastest time.
The Delaware men's team took the meet
title with seven runners in the Top 10. The Blue Hens had a
team total of 21 points, well ahead of second place Penn's
total of 67.
The Blue Hen women placed third in the
team standings with a total of 52 points. Towson won the
team title with 36 points, just ahead of Hofstra's 39
points.
