Nick Barresi - So. - Laurel, MD (Atholton HS) One of team's top newcomers as a freshman in 1998...team's top finisher at Rider Invitational (15th) and also placed 16th at Towson Invitational, and 45th at Delaware Invitational #1...also competed at Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh (211th)...mechanical engineering major.
Troy Bockius - Sr. - Dover, DE (Dover HS) Co-captain...placed fourth among UD runners in placing 15th overall at the 1998 America East cross country championships....team's top finisher at NCAA District II meet (91st)....could miss most or all of season with hamstring injury...placed 21st at 1997 America East cross country meet...member of UD record 4 x 800m relay outdoors (7:33.28)....placed fifth at 1999 America East indoor championships in mile (4:16.31) and was second in 4 x 800m relay to lead Hens to team title...sixth in 1,500m (3:55.41) at 1999 America East outdoor meet...transfer from Florida State where he was seventh at the 1996 Atlantic Coast Conference cross country meet...placed third in ACC 800m and fourth in ACC 1,500m...football and track standout at Dover HS...geography major.
Pat Boettcher - Fr. - Newark, DE (William Penn HS) Expected to be Blue Hens top incoming freshman...a two-time All-State cross country pick at William Penn HS...county 800m champion in 1997..environmental science major.
Mark Dawson - Sr., - West Chester, PA (Bishop Shanahan HS) Earned first varsity letter as a junior in 1998...placed eighth among Delaware runners and 35th overall at 1998 America East cross country championships...also placed 18th at Delaware Invitational #2...finance and marketing major.
Mike DiGennaro - Jr. - Essex, MA (Hamilton-Wenham HS) Co-captain...should be Hens' top runner...placed third overall at America East championships in 1998, the highest finish for a UD runner since 1962...co-champion of Towson Invitational with teammate Mike Puglisi...third at Delaware Invitational #2 and team's No. 2 finish at Griak Invitational at University of Minnesota...team's top finisher at IC4A meet (55th)...47th at America East cross country meet in 1997....fifth in 3,000m (8:48.05) and sixth in 5,000m (15:20.80) at 1999 America East indoor championships, leading UD to team title...second in 3,000m steeplechase in school record time (9:13.19) and fifth in 5,000m at 1999 America East outdoor meet...English major with political science minor at Delaware.

Robb Munro - Jr. - Sidney, NY (Sidney Central HS) Team's No. 9 finisher at 1998 America East championships in 45th place...placed sixth at Towson Invitational, was 28th at Delaware Invitational #1, and team's top finisher at Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh (134th)...second at America East outdoor championships in steeplechase in 1998 and fourth in 3,000m at 1998 AE indoor meet...transferred to Delaware from Virginia Tech...history education major at Delaware.
Anthony Palmer - So. - Merchantville, NJ (Camden Catholic HS) Expected to be one of Hens' top newcomers in 1999...transfer from Stockton State University in New Jersey...team Most Valuable Player and all-conference pick at Camden (NJ) Catholic...criminal justice major at Delaware...would like to become an FBI agent.
Mike Puglisi - Sr. - Newark, DE (St. Mark's HS) Two-year team co-captain...expected to miss most or all of season with chronic fatigue illness...placed 16th at America East championships in 1998 to place fifth for Delaware...co-champion of Towson Invitational with teammate Mike DiGennaro...second place finish at Delaware Invitational #2....team's No. 2 finisher at NCAA District II meet...placed 37th at America East cross country meet in 1997...5th in 10,000m at 1998 America East outdoor meet...state champion in 3,200m at St. Mark's HS...nutrition major at Delaware.
Joe Quigley - Jr. - Wilmington, DE (Salesianum) Third-year team member...placed 17th at Towson Invitational, 22nd at Delaware Invitational #2, and 25th at Rider Invitational in 1998...won America East indoor 1,000m run in 1999 with UD record time (2:28.95) and was part of second place 4 x 800m relay team to lead Delaware to team title...fifth in 800m at America East outdoor meet in 1999...member of UD record setting 4 x800m relay (7:33.28) outdoors in 1998...placed fourth in America East indoor 1,000m in 1998 to set UD freshman record...All-State at Salesianum School...biology major.
