Towson Invitational Sept. 12, 1998 1st Place
The University of Delaware men's and women's
cross country teams opened the 1998 season on a
high note Saturday as both captured team titles at
the Towson University Invitational. In the men's
race, Delaware earned 20 points to easily
outdistance Towson, Loyola, Morgan State, Coppin
State, and District of Columbia. Delaware's Mike
DiGennaro and Mike Puglisi each finished
with times of 26:26 over the 5.2 mile course to
capture the individual title. Also for the Blue
Hens, Dave Geesaman was fourth in 27:05,
Robb Munro was sixth in 27:25, and Matt
McNally was seventh in 27:36. In all, 10 Blue
Hen runners placed in the top 20.
Men's Final Team Standings: 1. Delaware -
20; 2. Towson - 49; 3. Loyola - 66; 4. Morgan State
- 134; 5. Coppin State - 139; 6. District of
Columbia - 167.
