I Meet Individual Results
NEWARK, DE - The University of Delaware women took first place in their division and the Blue Hen men were fourth in their division at the University of Delaware Indoor Track and Field Invitational Friday night at Delaware Field House. The meet, which involved seven men's teams and five women's teams, was broken up in a divisional format. The UD women won the Division I meet with 229 points, outdistancing Monmouth and LaSalle. The College of New Jersey won the Division II/III meet. It was the final of three home meets for the Blue Hens during the indoor season. For the men, La Salle captured the Division I meet with 216.5 points followed by Monmouth, Delaware State, and Delaware. The College of New Jersey also captured the men's Division II/III crown. Delaware athletes won six titles during the meet as Jennie Chiller (Sharon/Sharon, MA) won the weight throw (52-6), Laura Dietrich (Northeastern/York, PA) won the triple jump (36-6 3/4), Monica Marchetta (Milton/Milton, MA) captured the 5,000 meters (18:29.37), and freshman Kristen Frustillo (Cardinal O'Hara/Newtown Square, PA) was the winner in the 60 meters (8.12). Earning first place finishes for the men were Jon DiNozzi (Fox Lane, NY/Middletown, DE) in the pole vault (15-9) and Michael Reh (Middletown/Middletown, NY) in the high jump (6-3 1/4). Taking second place finishes for the Hens were Pat Riley (St. Mark's/Newark, DE) in the men's 3,000 meters (8:47.69), the men's 4 x 800 meter relay team, Jennifer Hogue (Roselle Catholic/Linden, NJ) in the women's high jump (4-11), Lisa Steward (Millville/Millville, NJ) in the women's pole vault (9-6 1/4), the women's 4 x 400 meter relay team (4:06.47), Cristin Romano (Magruder/Rockville, MD) in the women's 5,000 meters, (19:57.72), Jen McDonald (Paul VI/Magnolia, NJ) in the women's 60 meters (8.17), and Tyechia Smith (McNair/Jersey City, NJ) in the women's 400 meters (1:01.52).
