DATE: February 25, 2005

NEW YORK -- Brad Dodson (Martinsburg/Martinsburg, WV - right) placed fourth overall in the 1,000 meters with a school record time of 2:28.44 to lead University of Delaware performers Friday at the New York University FasTrack Track and Field Invitational at the New York City Armory.

Dodson, who has won three meet titles this season, was the Hens' top finisher with his fourth place finish. His time of 2:28.44 broke the school record of 2:28.50 set by John Morgan in 2003 and also qualified him for the IC4A regionals March 5-6 at Boston University. Iona's Phil Burkart won the race with a time of 2:28.18. Dodson has also qualified for the IC4A championships in the 4 x 800 meter relay and distance medley relay.
