Wins Mile to Lead Delaware at Princeton
Invitational

PRINCETON,
NJ -- Casey Bennett captured the pole
vault and Brittany Wright won the 60 meter
dash for the University of Delaware women
and Brad Dodson captured the mile run with
a career-best time for the Blue Hen men at
the Princeton Indoor Track and Field
Invitational Saturday at Jadwin Gym.
Bennett
captured her fourth pole vault title of
the indoor season and the 14th of her
career as she won the event with a leap of
11-9 3/4 while Wright continued to
dominate the sprint events as she won the
60 meter dash in a time of 7.77 - tying
her own school record. Wright also placed
second in the 200 meters. She has now won
seven sprint events this season.
Dodson
continued to dominate the distance events
as he won the mile run with a time of
4:16.92. Last week Dodson won three
distance events at the University of
Delaware Thomson Invitational. He has won
the mile in three different events this
year.
Also for
the Delaware women, Asha Quant was second
in the long jump (17-4 1/4), Rachel Young
was third in the shot put (39-4) and
fourth in the weight throw (45-11 1/4),
Kate Klim was third in the 3,000 meters
(10:37.34), and Toni Riggi was third in
the 1,000 meters (3:12.99).
For the
Delaware men, Chris Dixon was second in
the 400 meters (50.32), Pat Henry was
third in the 200 meters (22.85), Charlie
Williams was fourth in the 400 meters
(50.84), and Mike Yost was fifth in the
weight throw (51 1/4).
