Wins Three Events As Delaware Men's Indoor
Track Finishes Second At Thomson
Invitational

NEWARK,
DE -- The University of Delaware men's
indoor track team finished second out of
nine teams with 129 points while the women
were third with 116.5 points as the Blue
Hens competed in the Thomson Invitational
Friday and Saturday in the Delaware Field
House.
Brad
Dodson (right) led the Delaware men by
winning the 1000-meter run in 2:32.42, the
one mile run in 4:19.12, and the
3000-meter run in 8:41.20, all
season-bests. The Blue Hen 4x400 medley
relay team also won its race in
3:24.85.
Mike
Yost finished second in the shot put with
a throw of 13.95 meters and was third in
the weight throw with a mark of 15.46
meters, while Matt Guida placed second in
the pole vault with a mark of 4.10 meters
and Chris Dixon was second in the
400-meter dash in 51.18. Kyle Schmid
finished third in the 3000-meter run in
8:53.40, while Kyle Casella came in fourth
in the shot put with a throw of 13.84
meters.
The
other fourth place finishers for the Blue
Hens were Matt Arbaugh, who had a 3.95
mark in the pole vault, and Pat Henry, who
ran the 200-meter dash in
23.01.
The
Delaware women were led by Brittany
Wright, who won the 60-meter dash in 7.84
and the 200-meter dash in 26.14. Lisa
Weeks won the shot put with a throw of
12.16 meters, Casey Bennett took the pole
vault with a mark of 3.60 meters, and
Colleen O'Brien captured the 3000-meter
run in 10:00.30.
Rayna
Horsey finished second iin the 200-meter
dash in 26.27, while the UD 4x400 meter
relay team was also second in its race in
4:10.42. Kate Klim placed third in the
5000-meter run in 19:05.10, while the Blue
Hen 4x800 meter relay team also came in
third with a time of 9:52.73. Asha Quant
was the lone fourth place finisher for
Delaware as she posted a long jump of 5.14
meters.
Lehigh
won the men's title with 176.5 points,
while Temple was the women's champion with
145 points. The College of New Jersey won
both Division II and III titles, as the
Lions men recorded 254.5 points while the
women had 149 points.
Both
Delaware indoor track teams will be back
in action on February 19 when the Blue
Hens compete in the Princeton
Invitaitonal.
