University of Delaware Thomson Invitational - Day 1 Results February 14, 2003   Complete Results NEWARK, DE -- Both the University of Delaware men's and women's indoor track and field squads took the team lead after the first night of action at the University of Delaware Thomson Indoor Track and Field Invitational Friday at the Delaware Field House. The Delaware men captured three first place finishes and earned 84 points to share the first day team lead with Shippensburg. Richard Stockton was third with 26 points in the 12-team field. On the women's side, the Blue Hens won two events and posted 51 points to outdistance second place Salisbury State with 29 points in the 12-team field. The second and final day of action will get underway Saturday with the women's meet at 9 a.m. followed by the start of the men's meet at 12:30 p.m. Delaware athletes captured five first place finishes as Jon DiNozzi won the men's pole vault with an IC4A qualifying jump of 15-feet, 9-inches, Dave Finneran won the men's 3,000 meters in a time of 8:59.63, Matt Harrell captured the men's 5,000 meters in 15:09.61, Mary Martini won the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 20:14.44, and Kate Klim captured the women's 3,000 meter race in 10:45.94. The Hens also had three second place finishes, including Tina Ward in the women's 5,000 meters (21:38.21), Mike Yost in the men's weight throw (52-4), and Mike Sadowsky in the 5,000 meters (15:12.38).
