PHILADELPHIA -- Senior Jason
Lavey (Huntington Station, NY/Harborfields) had five
goals and four assists and sophomore Cullen Roberts
added a pair of late goals as Delaware snapped a five-game
losing streak and turned away St. Joseph's (PA), 14-9, in
men's lacrosse action Wednesday night.
The Blue Hens were in control after
taking a 3-2 lead to end the first quarter. However, the
Hawks (0-6) rallied to within one at 10-9 with 7:53 left on
Randy McNeill's sixth goal of the night.
However, Lavey and Roberts each scored
twice in the final 5:28 to put the game away and propel the
Blue Hens to the win.
Junior David Mullen had 10 saves
in goal to preserve the win.
Delaware (2-6) plays host to Army
Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Rullo Stadium.
