Hen Men's Lacrosse Back in USILA Top 20
Poll at No. 19

NEWARK,
DE -- For the second time this season,
both the University of Delaware men's and
women's lacrosse teams are ranked in the
top 20 in their respective national
polls.
The
Delaware women (8-6) are ranked No. 16 in
the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse
Coaches Association Top 20 poll while the
Delaware men (9-4) are No. 19 in both the
United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse
Association and the Inside Lacrosse
Magazine Top 20 poll.
Both
teams were also ranked in the top 20 on
April 5. The Blue Hen women have been
ranked in the top 20 eight times this
season and were as high as No. 15 in the
IWLCA poll on March 28. The Delaware men
are in the top 20 for just the second time
this season after previously being ranked
No. 17 in the USILA poll April 5. This
week marks the first time that the UD men
are ranked in the top 20 in the Inside
Lacrosse Magazine media poll.
The
Delaware women will compete as the No. 4
seed at the Colonial Athletic Association
Championships this weekend in Hempstead,
NY and will take on host and No. 1 seed
Hofstra in the semifinals April 29 at 12
noon. The championship game is set for
April 30 at 1 p.m. The Blue Hen men, the
CAA regular season champion, closes out
its regular season April 30 vs. St. John's
at Rullo Stadium at 7 p.m. and will host
Hofstra in the CAA semifinals May 4 at 7
p.m.
Unbeaten
Northwestern (15-0) remained atop the
IWLCA poll with 300 points and all 15
first place votes and was followed in the
top 10 by Dartmouth, Duke, Princeton,
Boston University, Georgetown, Virginia,
Maryland, North Carolina, and Penn State.
Johns Hopkins is 11th followed by Hofstra,
Syracuse, Towson, Connecticut, Delaware,
Cornell, Vanderbilt, Yale, and Stanford.

Johns Hopkins (10-0) remained atop the
men's USILA poll with 200 points and 10
first place votes. Duke was second
followed by Virginia, Cornell, Navy,
Georgetown, Syracuse, Massachusetts, Army,
Maryland, Dartmouth, Towson, Albany,
Bucknell, Denver, Fairfield, Stony Brook,
Penn State, Delaware, and Brown.
Johns
Hopkins also remained atop the Inside
Lacrosse poll followed by Duke, Virginia,
Navy, Cornell, Georgetown, Syracuse,
Massachusetts, Maryland, Army, Dartmouth,
Towson, Bucknell, Denver, Albany, Notre
Dame, Fairfield, Stony Brook, Delaware,
and Brown.
