HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year standout at nearby St. Mark’s High School in Newark...enjoyed one of the finest careers ever by a Delaware boy’s lacrosse player...as a senior, earned first team All-State honors and was named state Player of the Year by the Wilmington News Journal...earned honorable mention All-American honors...scored 55 goals and dished out 31 assists as team advanced to state championship game...scored 22 goals and dished out 30 assists as a junior...National Honor Society student.

AT DELAWARE: Fourth-year standout for Blue Hens as a longstick midfielder...athletic midfielder with good size and stick skills...will be counted on to start Hens’ transition game...outstanding between the lines...has appeared in 42 career games with 13 starts and recorded 48 groundballs...2005: Played in 16 games in a reserve role as longstick midfielder...led Hens to CAA regular season title and NCAA Tournament berth...did not score a point but tallied 17 groundballs and had two shots on goal...2004: Appeared in 16 games with 13 starts....was key part of Delaware’s faceoff unit...had 27 groundballs...2003: Played a key role for Hens as a freshman...appeared in 10 games in a reserve role...earned only point with an assist in loss at Hofstra...collected four groundballs.

PERSONAL: Paul Alexander Rodriguez (“rod-ree-giss”)...honor student as a mechanical engineering major at Delaware with a minor in math...has worked as a scientist, camp counselor and electrician during the summers...avid golfer..older sister, Carol, played field hockey at the University of Vermont...father is an electrical engineer.
