BALTIMORE -- University of Delaware men’s lacrosse leading scorer Curtis Dickson (at right) has been selected as one of 22 finalists for the Warrior Tewaaraton Trophy to be awarded at the end of the season.
Dickson, a sophomore attackman from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia (Riverside High School), will lead the Blue Hens (9-5) into their final regular season game of the season Saturday at Sacred Heart. A win for Delaware would clinch a spot in the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association semifinals Apr. 30 and coupled with a win by Villanova over Drexel later that night would assure the Hens a home game.
The Tewaaraton Award Foundation, in conjunction with The University Club of Washington, DC, formally established the Tewaaraton Trophy on August 29, 2000. The trophy, which honors the top male and female collegiate lacrosse players in the nation, is now presented annually following the collegiate season at a banquet honoring the finalists and winners.
Joining Dickson on the list of finalists are Adam Fullerton of Army, Ben Rubeor and Danny Glading of Virginia, Brendan Cannon and Jerry Lambe of Georgetown, Jeremy Blevins and Terry Kimener of UMBC, Joey Kemp of Notre Dame, Max Seibold and John Glynn of Cornell, Jordan Burke of Brown, Jordan DiNola of Navy, Kylor Berkman of Division III Salisbury, Nick O’Hara, Matt Danowski and Zack Greer of Duke, Steven Brooks and Mike Leveille of Syracuse, Mike McDonald of Division II LeMoyne, and Paul Rabil and Stephen Peyser of Johns Hopkins.

His teammates Cam Howard and Martin Cahill were among 51 players on the original Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List but were not among the finalists.
Dickson has enjoyed a prolific year on offense and currently leads the team and the CAA in both goals and points per game and ranks fifth in the nation in goals (3.07) and eighth nationally in points (4.07) with 43 points and 15 assists His 43 goals this season trails only Duke’s Max Quinzani (45) for the most total goals in the nation.
Dickson has recorded 11 multiple goal games this season and enters the Sacred Heart contest having scored at least one goal in 23 straight games, the fourth longest in school history.
