NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men’s lacrosse team continued to earn votes and remained ranked among the top 20 in two of the three national polls announced Monday.

The Blue Hens (4-2), who had a two-game win streak snapped Saturday with a 16-12 setback to Stony Brook, dropped out of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association coaches poll but were the top vote getters among teams outside of the top 20. Delaware also picked up a No. 19 ranking in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll and a No. 20 ranking by LAXNews.com.

Last week Delaware was picked No. 14 in the USILA poll, No. 15 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse ranking, and No. 15 in the LAXNews.com.

Delaware will continue a difficult schedule this week when the Hens travel south to Washington, D.C. to take on No. 9 Georgetown (2-2) Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live regionally on MASN TV. Delaware will also host former Colonial Athletic Association foe Villanova Saturday at 1 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.

The Hens are led by the nation's leading goal-scorer, Curtis Dickson, who has netted 30 goals this season and has scored a point in 46 straight games. Also bolstering the offense is senior Martin Cahill (at right) with 17 goals.

Virginia remained at No. 1 in all three polls, picking up 200 points and all 10 first place votes in the USILA poll. The Cavs were followed in the USILA poll by Syracuse, North Carolina, Maryland, Princeton, Hofstra, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Georgetown, Cornell, Lafayette, Drexel, Notre Dame, Harvard, Stony Brook, Loyola, Yale, Bucknell, Robert Morris, and Brown. Five of the top 20 teams are on Delaware’s scheduled this spring.

In the Inside Lacrosse poll, Virginia was followed by North Carolina, Syracuse, Princeton, Maryland, Hofstra, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Stony Brook, Notre Dame, Loyola, Lafayette, Drexel, Brown, Bucknell, Delaware, and Yale.

In the LAXNews.com rankings, Virginia was followed by Syracuse, North Carolina, Princeton, Maryland, Hofstra, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, Duke, Loyola, Georgetown, Harvard, Lafayette, Yale, Drexel, Stony Brook, Navy, Bucknell, and Delaware.
