High School: Three-sport standout at Fairfield Ludlowe High School in lacrosse, basketball, and football...served as captain of the lacrosse and basketball squads...three-year letterwinner who led lacrosse team to berth in state title game as a senior...earned All-State honors on defense as a senior...played forward in basketball and led team to state title game...second team all-league selection...played wide receiver in football and earned All-State honors as a senior...earned football team's Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior...honor roll student.

At Delaware: Third-year member of the squad as a defenseman...sophomore who should battle for starting spot on defense ...talented defender who poses problems to opponents with his size and strength...tallest member of the team at 6-6.

2008 Season: Started all 16 games on defense and earned a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team...anchored a defense that led the CAA in caused turnovers per game with 9.19 and ranked 37th in the NCAA in scoring defense and third in the CAA...led team with 18 caused turnovers...ranked fifth on the team in groundballs with 35...caused a team season-high four turnovers against Marist.

2007 Season: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...Delaware captured the Colonial Athletic Association title and NCAA Final Four berth.

Personal: Patrick John "Pat" Dowling...son of Michael and Susan Dowling...history major with a minor in Spanish at Delaware...would like to become a lawyer...father is a lawyer and mother is a librarian...has worked as a camp counselor during the summer...plays the guitar...has one older brother, Jeff, who plays college lacrosse at NCAA Division II St. Michael's College.
