Win One As Blue Hen Men's Compete At TCNJ

- Brad Dodson won both the 800 meter run
and the 1500 meter run while Matt Guida
took the pole vault, Mike Yost captured
the hammer throw, and P.J. Meany won the
5,000 meters as the University of Delaware
men's and women's outdoor track teams
competed in the Lions' Invitational
Saturday afternoon on the campus of The
College of New Jersey.
Dodson won
the 800 meter run in 1:54.18 and the 1500
meter run in 3:54.23, while Guida took the
pole vault with a mark of 14'9", Yost took
the hammer with a throw of 166'7", and
Meany won the 5,000 meter run in 14:58.36.
In addition, Kyle Casella finished second
with a hammer throw of 157'4".
Yost was
third with a discus throw of 147'11", Tony
DiUlio was fifth with a discus throw of
136'8", Hao Guan was fifth with a hammer
throw of 139'4", Matt Harrell finished
fifth in the 5000 meter run in 15:21.47,
Will Jurkowski placed sixth in the 800
meter run in 1:57.54, Eric Lehrer was
sixth with a javelin throw of 156'2", and
Casella placed seventh in the shot put
with a throw of 45'9".
Will Baum
finished eighth with a high jump of 5'8",
while Kyle Schmid placed ninth in the 1500
meter run in 4:03.96. Guida was also ninth
with a long jump of 20'1", while Lynch
came in 10th in shot put with a throw of
42'8.75" and Matt Arbaugh was 10th in the
pole vault (12-9).
Brittany
Wright (right) led the Delaware women by
finishing second in the 100 meter dash in
12.62, while Rachel Young placed second in
the shot put with a throw of 40'11.5".
Lisa Weeks was also second with a discus
throw of 123'8", and Julie Hischman
finished second in the javelin with a
throw of 126'11".
Domonique
Carter finished third with a long jump of
17'3", while Young was third with a discus
throw of 118'0". The Blue Hen 4x100 meter
relay team came in fourth in its race in
51.00, while Stephanie Cronk finished
fourth with a hammer throw of 137'5".
Rayna Horsey placed fifth in the 100 meter
dash in 13.03, while Wright was fourth in
the 200 meter dash in 27.02.
Asha Quant
finished fifth in the 200 meter dash in
27.77 and sixth in the long jump with a
mark of 16'4", while Reagan Hastings was
fifth in the pole vault with a mark of
10'0" and Young placed sixth with a hammer
throw of 131'5". Amy Miller and Kaitlin
McGowan each tied for sixth in the pole
vault with marks of 9'6.25", while Weeks
was ninth with a hammer throw of
128'2".
There was
no team scoring at the meet. Both Delaware
outdoor track teams return to action next
Saturday when they host the second
Delaware Invitational.
