BOSTON, MA - The University of Delaware was defeated by
Boston University, 4-1 in men's soccer, Friday.
Delaware (5-9-1, 3-3 America East) drew first blood in
this contest. Junior Todd Everett scored unassisted from 30
yards out at 37:26. That gave the Hens a 1-0 lead, a lead
they would take with them to the half.
In the second half, Boston University (7-5-4, 3-2-1
America East) scored four unanswered goals. The tying goal
came at 55:32, when Boston University's Sigurd Dalen (Chris
Bone assist) scored from six yards out, off a Delaware
turnover. The eventual game-winner was put in from 15 yards
off the foot of Kirk Miller, assists from Joachim Kaland and
Frank Vigliotti.
Boston University added two more goals, Miller again at
81:03 (Vigliotti assist) and Kaland off assists from Eric
Manfoumbi and Dalen.
Delaware will travel across town to meet the Northeastern
Huskies on Sunday. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
