Delaware vs.
Drexel
Oct. 10, 1999
Drexel 1, Delaware 0
NEWARK, DE -- Ciaran Barrett's
unassisted goal 2:49 into the game stood up as the only
score of the day as Drexel defeated Delaware, 1-0, in
America East men's soccer action at Rullo Stadium Sunday
afternoon.
The game was moved from Delaware's normal
grass field, Delaware Mini-Stadium, to the artificial
surfaced Rullo Stadium because of heavy rains in the Newark
area overnight.
Barrett scored from 20 yards out after
controlling a deflection off of a Delaware defender. Barrett
skidded a ball across the wet turf into the bottom left
corner of the net for his second goal of the
season.
Mike Haberman had two saves for Drexel
(6-5-1, 2-2 America East) in recording his fourth shutout of
the season. Nick Konawalik had three saves for
Delaware (3-8-1, 1-2 America East).
Drexel is now unbeaten in its last four
games, allowing just one goal during that span.
Delaware will host Maine Friday afternoon
in an America East match-up. Game time is 3:30
p.m.
