BROOKLINE, MA -- Petter Starnas
scored on a penalty kick and Ryan McKibban added a late
insurance goal as Northeastern shutout Delaware, 2-0, in
men's soccer action at Parsons Field Sunday
afternoon.
The loss dimmed Delaware's hopes of a
berth in the America East Tournament. Delaware fell to
5-10-1, 3-4-0 in America East and will need to win at least
one of its two remaining games next weekend in order to have
a chance to make the four-team field. The Blue Hens will
host front-runner Hartford and Vermont in a pair of key
games Friday and Sunday afternoon.
Allan Lewis recorded his sixth shutout of
the season for Northeastern (10-5-1, 4-2-1). He had two
saves for the Huskies. Nick Konawalik had two saves
for Delaware.
