Delaware vs.
Temple
Sept. 19, 1999
Delaware 2, Temple 2 (2 OT)
NEWARK, DE -- Rob Ballas'
goal for Delaware with 23:01 remaining was the last tally of
the day as the Blue Hens and Temple played to a 2-2 tie
Sunday at Delaware Mini-Stadium.
Ballas scored his first collegiate goal
off of a feed from Mike Honeysett to tie the game
after Temple had taken the lead seven minutes earlier on
Justin Kain's goal.
Rob MacLeod scored the game's
first goal for Delaware at the 17:19 mark of the first half
off a Dan Keane pass.
Temple (2-2-1) tied the game, however,
just 3:03 later when Jeff Fisher blasted a shot out of a
crowd past Delaware keeper Nick Konawalik.
Both teams had chances to break the tie
in the two 15-minute sudden-death overtime periods, but
could not connect. Delaware outshot Temple, 19-8, for the
game.
Delaware (1-4-1) will host Lehigh
Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
