Delaware defeated the University of New Hampshire, 2-1, in
overtime, Sunday in men's soccer.
Delaware opened up the scoring just 9:16
into the first half as Todd Everett headed the ball
into the net off of a Dan Keane assist.
The game remained the same until 3:18
(48:18) into the second half when New Hampshire's Adam
Purcell headed the tying goal into the net off an assist
from teammate Doug Lawver.
The Hens and Wildcats needed overtime to
settle the score. At 9:15 (99:15) into overtime, Rob
MacLeod scored off assists from Keane and Everett. The
goal sequence started out as a direct kick.
Delaware improves its record to 5-8-1
(3-2 America East), while New Hampshire falls to 4-9-1
(0-5-1 America East).
The Hens return to action next weekend as
they travel to Boston University and
Northeastern.
