WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Mike Hull came off the bench to score the game-winning goal just three minutes and 40 seconds into overtime as host Monmouth posted a 2-1 victory over the University of Delaware Tuesday afternoon at West Lawn Field.

The Blue Hens (1-6) lost their second straight game while Monmouth improved to 3-1-1. The game, which was televised on tape delay by the CN8 Network, was delayed for 25 minutes with 33 minutes left in regulation due to heavy rain and lightning.

The Hawks got on the board just six minutes and 52 second into the contest when Anthony Viscariello took a feed from Damon Albano off a corner kick and scored past Delaware goalkeeper Nick Konawalik (Pleasant Valley/Brodheadsville, PA). Konawalik had five saves on the day.

Delaware tied the score at 1-1 with 26:58 left in the second half when Nick Kreider (Cedar Crest/Cornwall, PA) scored his second career goal and first of the season off an assist from Mat Dunbar (McKean/Hockessin, DE). The score came just seven minutes after the rain delay. The teams did not score again in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Monmouth won the game in the fourth minute of overtime when Hull blasted a shot over a diving Konawalik. Monmouth goalkeeper Tim Fauth posted seven saves in the win. Delaware outshot Monmouth 14-12.

Delaware will travel back to New Jersey Saturday to take on Rider in Lawrenceville.
