Blue Hens stiemied by Dragon
defense
PHILADELPHIA -- A first half goal was all
Drexel University needed to record their first America East
victory of the season, dropping the University of Delaware
1-0 Sunday afternoon at Drexel Field.
Junior Pete Pittaoulis netted a pass from
senior Jim Costello 14:07 into the first half and the
Dragons (5-9, 1-6 America East) relied on a strong defensive
effort to shut out the Blue Hens and snap an eight game
losing streak.
Delaware freshman Kyle Haynes turned away
six shots in the losing effort.
The Blue Hens (5-9-1, 2-4-1) will be back
in action Friday October 26, when they host Maine at 7 p.m.
at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.
