HARRISONBURG, VA -- Carl Younis scored
off a rebound with 4:21 remaining in regulation as James
Madison upended Delaware, 1-0, in a non-conference men's
soccer game Saturday night.
Levi Strayer's shot hit the crossbar and
bounced to Yannis, who had just checked into the game five
minutes earlier. Yannis then knocked the ball past Blue Hen
keeper Kyle Hanes for the game's only goal.
James Madison outshot Delaware, 23-9, but
Hanes kept the Blue Hens within striking distance by
recording seven saves.
Dukes' keeper Josh Kovlenko recorded four
saves in recording the shutout.
Delaware returns to action next Friday
night in its home opener against Lehigh. Game time is 7
p.m.
