Keane's tallies 6:40 into the contest and
again with 8:18 left in the first half staked the Blue Hens
(3-5-0, 0-1-0 America East) to a 2-1 halftime
lead.
However, midway through the second half
Alfonso DeMares and Machel Millwood scored 3:46 apart to
give the Tigers (5-2-0, 1-0-0) the lead for good.
Keane's first goal came when Stephen
Mangat lofted a corner kick into the box and Keane headed
the ball into the back of the goal. He scored his second
tally off of a penalty kick.
Millwood, who assisted on DeMares' goal
that tied the game, scored the gamewinner off a feed from
Randy Tolson. Tolson's pass, resulting in his second assist
of the day, went into the box, where Millwood headed it past
Delaware's Kyle Haynes.
Haynes had five saves for Delaware.
Towson's Chris Hurley had six saves.
Delaware returns home for an America East
tilt Friday evening against Hartford. The 5 p.m. start is
the first game of a UD men's-women's soccer doubleheader.
The UD women follow with a game against Northeastern at 8
p.m.
