Keane leads second half comeback victory

NEWARK, DE --  Dan Keane netted two goals and one assist, as the University of Delaware erased a two-goal lead, and defeated the University of Vermont 3-2 at Delaware Mini-Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The Catamounts (1-5-1, 0-3 America East) jumped to an early first-half lead with a pair of goals from Jamie Farrell and David Said.

Delaware (4-6, 1-2) struck back just 1:05 into the second half, as junior Dan Keane (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) knocked in a pass from teammate Mike Honeysett. The Blue Hens would tie the game with Keane's second goal of the afternoon, 64:29 into the contest.

With 6:23 left in the game, freshman Eric Carlson (Albuquerque, NM/Manzano) took a feed from Keane to kick the game-winning goal, putting Delaware up for good. The goal was the second game-winner of the year for Carlson

Freshman Kyle Haynes entered in the second half to finish the game and record his fourth win of the season.

Delaware takes a break from conference play as they travel to Annapolis, Maryland to take on Navy, Wednesday night October 10 at 7:30.
