September 25, 2002 Delaware falls 2-1 at Monmouth West Long Beach, NJ -- The University of Delaware Men's soccer team fell to Monmouth University Wednesday afternoon, 2-1. Monmouth scored the only goal of the first half when Anthony Viscoriello scored off a crossing pass from Keith Parcti to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 until Tom Posnanski scored the game-winning goal for Monmouth (2-4) on a penalty kick at the 58:35 mark. J.D. Van Acker cut the Blue Hen defecit to 2-1 on a free kick at the 82:19 mark off passes from Nathan Danforth and Pat Werner, but Monmouth goalkeeper Authur Gatterwhite blanked Delaware the rest of the way and finished with two saves. Kyle Haynes made four saves for Delaware (1-4-1). The Blue Hens return to action this Saturday when they play host to Howard at Delaware Mini-Stadium. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
