Blue Hens Win First
CAA Game Since Entering the
Conference
NEWARK, DE - The University of
Delaware men's soccer team scored two second half goals en
route to snapping a four-game losing streak and winning its
first Colonial Athletic Association game since entering the
conference in 2002 with a 2-0 victory over Drexel Sunday
afternoon at Delaware Mini-Stadium.

Despite being outshot 12-3 in the first
half, Delaware rallied to score two second half goals and
outshot Drexel 11-4 in second half to improve to 4-10-5
(1-6-2 CAA) as it garnered a program-first CAA victory. The
Dragons fell to 6-12-1 (1-7 CAA) with the loss.
Junior David Egosi (Dix Hills,
NY/Commack) notched his fourth goal of the season as he
knocked in the rebound off freshman Justin Romano's
(Bear, DE/Saliesianum) shot for the first score of the
game in the 63rd minute of action.
Freshman Kyle Peters (Mt. Laurel,
NJ/Holy Cross) iced the Blue Hen victory when junior
Adam Flanigan's (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) shot
deflected off Drexel goalkeeper Nick Macri's hands and was
tapped in by Peters at 83:03. Peters' goal was his first
collegiate points as a Blue Hen.
Delaware's goalkeeper Kyle Haynes (St.
Michael's, MD/St. Michael's) made two saves to preserve
his 12th career shutout victory.
Delaware finalizes its 2003 season by
hosting the Hoyas of Georgetown on Tuesday, November 4, at 7
p.m.
The Hens will honor their three seniors,
Stephen Mangat (Newark, DE/St. Mark's), Nate
Danforth (McLean, VA/Langley) and Morgan Funsten
(King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion).
