NEWARK, DE-- Delaware men's soccer
ended a three game losing streak with a double overtime tie
against George Mason, 1-1, in a Colonial Athletic
Association match on Friday night at Delaware
Mini-Stadium.
Delaware moved to 3-6-3, 0-2-1 in the CAA
with the tie.
The Patriots got on the board first as
Karim Manneh scored their only goal of the game at 25:18
past the diving hands of Delaware goalkeeper Kyle Haynes
(St. Michael's, MD/St. Michael's).
Delaware came back to knot the score at
1-1 in the middle of the second half when David Egosi
booted the ball from forty yards out to hit the net in the
upper right ninety at 66:46.
Both teams played scoreless through the
final minutes of regulation and the subsequent
overtimes.
Haynes recorded all 110 minutes in goal
for the Hens, notching six saves.
George Mason (7-3-3, 2-0-1 CAA) topped
the Hens in shots 10-6 and corner kicks
8-0.
Delaware returns to action on Sunday,
October 12 against James Madison at 1 p.m. at Delaware
Mini-Stadium.
