September 5, 2003 NEWARK, DE-- The University of Delaware men's soccer team played 110 minutes of action to end in a scoreless tie at the end of two overtime periods against Monmouth University at Delaware Mini-Stadium Friday night. Offensively, both teams held even possession of the ball with Monmouth (1-0-1) holding a slight edge in shots, 17-15 over Delaware. The best scoring opportunity of the evening occurred three minutes into the second overtime when Monmouth's John Carrozza's shot was stopped with a sliding save by Delaware goalkeeper Kyle Haynes (St. Michael's, MD/St. Michael's). Both Haynes and Monmouth goalkeeper Art Satterwhite received shutouts on the evening. Satterwhite collected five saves while Haynes blocked seven shots on goal. Delaware (1-1-1) returns to action on Wednesday, September 10 at 7 p.m. when they host Rider at Delaware Mini-Stadium.
