WILMINGTON, NC -- UNC Wilmington's
Sam Leger tallied the only goal of the afternoon to send the
Delaware men's soccer team to their third consecutive loss
and second loss in Colonial Athletic Association action with
a 1-0 Seahawks' triumph on Sunday afternoon.
Leger scored in the early minutes of the
second half off a pass from Dustin Efird for the game-winner
at 53:17.
Senior Morgan Funsten (King of
Prussia, PA/Upper Merion) registered his first start in
goal for the Blue Hens since 2001. He tallied a team and
season high eight saves on the afternoon while tallying his
first career loss.
The Blue Hens (3-6-2, 0-2-0 CAA) took a
season-low two shots to the Seahawks' (8-2-1, 2-0-0 CAA)
13.
Delaware returns to action on Wednesday,
October 10 when it hosts George Mason at 7 p.m. in CAA
play.
