BRANCH, NJ-- The University of Delaware
men's soccer team saw its two-match
winning streak snapped as the Blue Hens
fell to Monmouth, 1-0, on Saturday
afternoon.
Just seven
minutes into the second half, Monmouth
scored the only goal of the game as Dan
Pires took a pass from Jonathan Schmid on
the left side and scored to the far corner
of the goal.
Sobhan
Tadjalli (Hockessin, DE/ A.I. duPont) and
Richard Zeller (Narberth, PA/ Haverford)
each had four shots for Delaware, which
outshot Monmouth, 14-10.
Delaware
goalkeeper Kyle Haynes (St. Michael's, MD/
St. Michael's) made two saves,while Art
Satterwhite made five saves for Monmouth.
Delaware
will return to action on Tuesday when it
hosts Navy at Delaware Mini-Stadium at 7
p.m.
