HARRISONBURG, VA -- James Madison
handed Delaware its second loss of the season Friday night,
2-0, in the first round of the JMU Sheraton Four Points
Hotel Tournament.
Randy Steeprow opened the scoring at
40:05 of the first half when he put one past Blue Hen keeper
Nick Konawalik from 12 yards out off of a feed from
Brian McGettigan.
The Dukes (1-0) took a 2-0 lead on
Brandon Wright's breakaway goal at 59:50.
James Madison outshot Delaware, 33-9, for
the game. However, Konawalik kept the Blue Hens in the game
by recording 14 saves.
Delaware (0-2) will face George Mason
Sunday at 1 p.m. in the second game of the pre-determined
pairing tournament.
