ATLANTA, GA -- The University of Delaware men’s soccer team earned its first conference win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Georgia State in a Colonial Athletic Association match in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Sobhan Tadjalli scored his second goal of the season in the 30th minute for the only goal of the game. Freshman Matt Laudeman continued his solid play, following up a goal on Friday night with the assist on Tadjalli’s goal. Tadjalli has scored the only goal in both of Delaware’s wins this season.
Freshman Taylor Thames made seven saves to earn his fourth shutout of the season for the Blue Hens (2-11-4, 1-7-2 CAA). Filipe Carvalho made four saves in the loss for the Panthers (5-12-0, 3-7-0 CAA).
The Blue Hens will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Drexel in the season finale. Game time is 4 p.m. from Philadelphia.
