DATE: October 14, 2005

RICHMOND, VA -- Virginia Commonwealth’s Pat Viray scored three times in leading the Rams men’s soccer team past Delaware, 4-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association match on Friday night.

Viray tallied his first goal 13:31 into the game, deflecting a shot by Dominic Oduro past Delaware goalkeeper Chris Jones to give the Rams the early lead. Viray tallied again 12 minutes later and once more in the second half to complete the natural hat trick. The three goals give Viray five on the season. Brian Morris also scored his fifth of the season to cap the scoring at 86:12.

VCU’s Andrew Dykstra and Rob Saymanik split the shutout in goal for the Rams. Jones made a season-high 13 saves for Hens, who were outshot 28-2 for the game.

The Blue Hens’ scorless streak is now 588:45.

Delaware will return to action on Sunday when the Blue Hens travel to James Madison for 2 p.m. match.
