WASHINGTON, DC -- The University of Delaware men’s soccer team continued its hot start with a 0-0 tie against George Washington University on Saturday afternoon at Mount Vernon Field in Washington.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Thames (right) made five saves for his sixth career shutout, and second in three games this season. Sobhan Tadjalli led the Hens with four shots.

The Hens (2-0-1) are unbeaten after three games for the first time since the 1985 team started 3-0. The 2-0-1 start for head coach Ian Hennessy also marks the first time a Delaware head coach has started his tenure unbeaten after three games since A.C. Bowdle started 3-0 in the 1936 season.

Greg Yahr made five saves for the Colonials (1-2-1), who outshot Delaware 19-12 but were unable to solve Thames.

The Blue Hens will return to action on Wednesday when they play host to the Naval Academy at 7 p.m. at Delaware Mini-Stadium.
