TOWSON, MD -- Sebastian Haensel scored with 10:51 remaining in regulation and Billy Chiles made seven saves in leading the Towson University men’s soccer team past the University of Delaware, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (8-1-2, 4-0-1 CAA) won their fourth consecutive game despite playing down a man over the final 41:16 after Rob Nwosu earned a red card and was ejected from the game.
Paul Danaher and Sobhan Tadjalli (right) led the Hens (4-5-2, 2-4 CAA) with three shots apiece.
Haensel scored his fourth goal of the season off a direct kick from 25 yards out. The blast hit the Blue Hen defensive wall and deflected into the right side of the net.
Chiles made seven saves for the shutout for the Tigers, who have now posted three consecutive shutouts. Jonathan Curry-Edwards made seven saves for the Delaware.
The Hens will return to action on Friday when they host UNC Wilmington at 7 p.m. at Delaware Mini-Stadium.
