NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men’s soccer team was shut out for the sixth time this year as the Blue Hens fell to Towson 1-0 Wednesday night.

Delaware fell to 2-10-3, 1-5-1 on the year as Towson improved to 7-4-2, 3-2-2. The Tigers now own a 24-2-2 record all-time against Delaware.

The Tigers’ Liam Maloney scored the game’s only goal just before halftime off a header inside the box after some pretty passing by Rob Nwosu and Matt Beckman.

The Blue Hens outshot the Tigers 15-14, but their only real chance of the night came on a Darren Christie header that was snagged by Tiger goalkeeper John Steele about halfway into the first half.

Delaware goalkeeper Conrad Rusnak (at right) made three saves in a losing effort as the Hens could not generate any offense.
