The University of Delaware men's soccer team (6-3-1,2-2)dropped its second conference game of the year 3-1 to No. 19 Boston University (7-2-1, 3-0-1) on Sunday in Boston, MA. Delaware, who had won two conference games in a row heading into today, started the scoring in the first half when Todd Everett converted on the Blue Hens only shot of the first half to make the score 1-0. Delaware was able to hold onto the lead until Sigurd Dalen tied the score with 31:47 left in the second half. The game remained tied until Chris Bone scored on an assist by Frank Vigliottiwith 6:29 left to put Boston University up 2-1. Dalen then put the game away when he scored with 3:30 left in the game on an assist from Dean Smith to makethe score 3-1. The Terriers outshot Delaware 31-4, 13-1 in the first half and 18-3 in the second half. The Blue Hens played most of the game without starting goalie Joaquin Hurtado, who suffered an injury 21 minutes into the game. David Owens filled in for Hurtado and gave up three goals along with having three saves.
