Junior Dennis O'Connell scored a goal with just 1:22 left to play as the University of Delaware men's soccer team defeated Howard 2-1 in the opening round of the 21st annual Chase Manhattan Mt. St. Mary's Soccer Classic Saturday. Howard (0-2), which advanced to the NCAA championship game in 1988,opened the scoring on a goal by Greg Simmonds 27 minutes into the game. But the Hens came back to knot the game at 1-1 as freshman David Hudson scored on a 25-yard kick two minutes later. The teams played to a deadlock until the closing minutes when Hudson crossed a pass to freshman Ray Chamberlain whose diving header found O'Connell open for the game-winner.
