The University of Delaware men's soccer team (6-2-1) won for the fifth time in six games defeating Northeastern (4-5, 0-2) 2-1 on Friday. The win was the Blue Hens second straight win in America East play. Northeastern opened the scoring in the first half when Anders Hoeyem put in a shot off of an Almir Djurdjevic pass to make the score 1-0.Delaware tied the score when freshman Dan Keane (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) put in a header off a free kick with 7:25 left in the first half to make the score 1-1. The score was tied for most of the second-half until David Hudson (Newark,DE/Glasgow) put in a loose ball with 8:30 left in the 2nd half to propel Delaware to the victory. Northeastern outshot Delaware 8-7, in a game that was decided by goals from two members of the Blue Hens highly touted freshmen class. The Blue Hens surpassed the one win that they had in conference play last year.
