Troskey Places 19th
in 3-Meter Event for Blue Hens
ANNAPOLIS, MD -- University of
Delaware freshman David Troskey (William Penn/New
Castle, DE) placed 19h in the three-meter diving event and
21st in the one-meter at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship
at the United States Naval Academy this weekend.
Troskey, who placed fourth in both events
in leading the Blue Hens to their fourth straight America
East team title in mid-February, placed 19th in the
three-meter with a score of 340.95 points Friday night and
was 21st in the one-meter with a score of 309.85 on
Saturday.
Troskey was the lone Delaware diver for
both the men's and women's team to compete at the NCAA
qualifying meet.
Columbia's Mark Fichera won the men's
one-meter title with a score of 529.30 while Penn State's
Chris Alderman won the three-meter title with a score of
538.85. Fichera was second in the three meter while Alderman
was second in the one-meter. Navy's Jonathan Schiffelbein
won the Platform Diving competition. All three will advance
to the NCAA championships later this month.
On the women's side, Pittsburgh's Jamie
Tomazich won both the one-meter and three-meter competitions
while Princeton's Danielle Stramandi won the
Platform.
