November 21, 1998 Drexel 129, Delaware 114 The University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving teams split an America East meet with Drexel Saturday afternoon at the Drexel Physical Education Athletic Center Pool. The Blue Hen women (3-0) stayed unbeaten on the season with a 133-100 victory over the host Dragons while the Delaware men (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season with a 129-114 setback. In the men's meet, Blue Hen swimmers captured five events led by double winner Tom Maday (Lexington Park, MD/Great Mills). Maday won both the 200 individual medley (2:01.35) and 200 breaststroke (2:13.16), Jim Reichart (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) won the 1,000 freestyle (10:12.09), Ryan Fauth (Gettysburg, PA/HS) captured the 200 freestyle (1:46.27), and Luke Schenck (Cathedral Prep/Erie, PA) won the 500 freestyle (4:53.18). |
