Hens' 6-Match Win Streak Snapped by Hatters

DELAND, FLA. -- The University of Delaware men's and women's tennis teams closed out their annual Florida spring trip with losses to host Stetson Friday afternoon.

The Delaware women (9-3) fell to Stetson 7-2 while the Blue Hen men (9-8) had a six-match win streak snapped with a 7-0 loss to the Hatters.

In the women's match, Delaware won just two matches as freshman Jessica Wilkes (Nazareth/Bethlehem, PA) defeated Amanda Someak 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles spot then teamed with Tracey Guerin for a 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles over Someak and Julie Dougherty.

Delaware is now 10-0 at the No. 3 doubles position this season. Wilkes is now 10-2 on the season in singles and a combined 6-0 in doubles.

In the men's match, the Blue Hens suffered their first loss of the spring trip (3-1) as Stetson won all six singles matches in straight sets and also captured all three doubles matches.

Delaware's Lee Kennedy lost for just the fifth time this season and had a six-match win streak snapped as he saw his singles record drop to 12-5. Delaware's No. 3 player David Mouber also had a six-match win streak snapped with a 6-4, 7-5 setback to Filipe Normann.
