PHILADELPHIA - Pat Seitz
(Dallastown/York, PA) rallied to defeat Pat Mulvaney in
three sets in the deciding match as Delaware defeated St.
Joseph's 4-3 in men's tennis action Saturday
afternoon.
With the win, the Blue Hens improved to
10-9 on the year. Delaware will return to action Sunday when
it travels to Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m.
Delaware won four of the six singles
matches from the Hawks. In the No. 2 spot, Lee
Kennedy (North Mecklenburg/Cornelius, NC) posted a 6-4,
7-5 victory over Tom Hoshall, and David Moubar
(Moorestown Friends/Mount Laurel, NJ) bested Damon Dennin
6-3, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot.
In the No. 5 spot, the Blue Hens'
Myron Schwarcz (Upper Dublin/Maple Glen, PA) defeated
Mark Spyrzynski 6-4, 6-0, and Seitz came back in the No. 6
spot to post a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 win to preserve the Delaware
victory.
Kennedy and Mouber combined to win the
No. 2 doubles spot 8-4, but St. Joseph's won the other two
matches to pick up the doubles point.
