TOWSON, MD -- University of Delaware got off to a slow start in its opening weekend of men's tennis action, winning just one of five matches at the Towson Invitational. The Blue Hens lost their opening match to Towson, 5-0, Friday morning, before bouncing back with a 5-0 win over Johns Hopkins in the second match of the day. Delaware later dropped its third match of the day, however, to UMBC, 5-0. Delaware dropped a pair of matches Saturday, falling to Bucknell, 5-0, and Villanova, 4-1. Lee Kennedy was the Hens' only double winner of the weekend, picking up singles wins over Johns Hopkins' Kevin Alford (7-5, 7-5) on Friday and Villanova's Josh Schofield (6-2, 6-2) on Saturday. Delaware returns to action Sunday when its hosts Howard in a men's/women's doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Delaware Field House courts. AGATE Towson 5, Delaware 0 Singles: Eric Horine (T) def.
