Kennedy, Mouber Help Hens Down Rams
WEST CHESTER, PA Freshman Lee Kennedy
and sophomore David Mouber each won their singles
matches and then combined for a victory at No. 2 doubles to
lead the University of Delaware to a 6-3 non-league
mens tennis victory over host West Chester Thursday
afternoon.
The Hens (4-7), who will host LaSalle today (Friday)
before embarking on their annual spring trip to Florida next
week, snapped a two-match losing streak and picked up their
first win of the spring season. West Chester fell to 6-3. It
was Delawares 11th straight victory all-time over West
Chester.
Kennedy (North Mecklenburg/Cornelius, NC) improved to a
team best 8-4 in singles this season with a 6-0, 6-3 win
over Chris Fiorello at the No. 3 spot then teamed with
Mouber (Friends/Mt. Laurel, NJ) for an 8-5 win over Fiorello
and John Considine at No. 2 doubles, upping their team
leading record to 6-1 on the season. Mouber won his No. 4
singles match, rallying for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Chris
Kyper.
Also picking up singles wins for the Hens were Jesse
Leopold at No. 5 singles and Myron Schwarcz at
No. 6 singles. The Hens No. 1 doubles team of Chris
Johnson and Sean Kelly also picked up a win with
a 8-2 victory over the Rams John Ellis and Joe
Dianna.
