 Hens Open Towson Tournament By Winning Two Matches

 

TOWSON, MD -- The University of Delaware men's tennis team opened the Towson Invitational Tournament with two victories Friday, downing Loyola 5-0 and defeating St. Joseph's 4-1.

The Blue Hens, who will meet Georgetown Saturday at 9 a.m. before beginning the playoff round, improved to 4-1 on the season.

In the first match, Delaware won all five matches in straight sets as Sanjay Khindri, John Tully, Lee Kennedy, and Dustin Lewis each won singles matches and Ari Zweig and Jason Rabinowitz teamed for a win at doubles.

In the win over St. Joseph's, the Hens won all but one match as Tully, Kennedy, and Lewis each won at singles and Rabinowitz and Zweig teamed for the doubles point.

Tully, a freshman, improved to a team-best 7-1 in singles play this season.
