TOWSON, MD &endash; Host Towson
University won four of the six singles matches to post a 4-3
victory over the University of Delaware in an America East
men's tennis match Tuesday afternoon.
Delaware, which won two of the three
doubles, matches, had a two-match win streak snapped and
fell to 3-4 on the season.
Picking up singles wins for the Blue Hens
were sophomore Lee Kennedy, who downed the Tigers'
Josh Hamilton 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot and freshman
John Fogelgren who won over Matt Shore 6-2, 6-2 at No.
6.
Winners for Towson were Bryan Rowland at
No. 1, Trey Ragase at No. 3, Gary Diamond at No. 4, and Dan
Selzer at No. 5.
Delaware picked up the point in doubles
as they won two of the three matches. At No. 1, Delaware's
team of Sean Kelly and Sanjay Khindri posted a
9-8 (7-0 tiebreaker) win over Rowland and Ragase while at
the No. 2 spot, Kennedy and David Mouber bested
Towson's Chris Rowland and Andrew Davis 8-2.
The Blue Hens return to action Saturday
at Mt. St. Mary's.
