March 12, 2003 Leopards Sweep Blue Hens Indoors
ALLENTOWN, PA -- For the second straight day, host Lafayette College posted a 7-0 victory over the University of Delaware in non-league tennis action. Lafayette (8-0) defeated the Blue Hen men's tennis team 7-0 Wednesday, winning five singles matches in straight sets and winning the doubles point with a sweep in the three doubles matches. The match was played indoors at the West End Raquet Club due to court conditions at Lafayette. The Delaware women fell to Lafayette 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon. In singles, Lafayette's H'Cone Thompson defeated Delaware's John Tully 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot, Matt Coin downed Sanjay Khindri 4-6, 7-6 (4), (8) at No. 2; Brett Warren beat Robert Wirth 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3; Ryan Collins upended Dustin Lewis 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4; Dan Seward was a 4-6, 6-2 winner over Adam Liebman at No. 5, and Peter Titus defeated Josh Ditman 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot. Delaware, which fell to 6-7 in duals this season, lost for the first time at the No. 6 singles spot this season after winning all previous five matches at that flight this season, including three by Ditman.
