Swarthmore Invitational September 20-21, 2003 Blue Hens Take Four Individual Titles in Season Opener SWARTHMORE, PA -- Four University of Delaware men's tennis players captured individual titles to highlight the Blue Hens at the season-opening Swarthmore Invitational this weekend. The tournament included individual and doubles action among teams from Delaware, Swarthmore, and Temple. Delaware's four titles were more than either Swarthmore or Temple. Junior John Tully (Pittsford-Sutherland/Pittsford, NY) went 3-0 and captured the Flight A singles title with a 6-3, 6-0 victory, freshman Adam Freedenberg (Wootten/Rockville, MD) went 2-0 and captured the Flight D singles title with a 6-4, 6-3 win over senior teammate Ari Zweig, and senior Dustin Lewis (Orange/Pepper Pike, OH) went 3-0 and won the Flight E title with a 6-2, 6-4 win over freshman teammate Jon Edwards to highlight the singles action. In doubles action, the Blue Hen team of Zweig (Wilde Lake/Columbia, MD) and Edwards (Northern/Dunkirk, MD) went 3-0 and captured the Flight B doubles title with an 8-5 win over teammates Freedenberg and Philip Wayne.
